In what situations are laminated teeth used?

For discolored teeth – teeth that cannot be whitened with a tooth whitening or that are not on the desired scale, even with bright teeth, porcelain laminate veneers can be used.

For broken, distorted and deformed teeth – Ideal results can be achieved with composite connections with very little wear or defects. However, laminate veneers can be used on teeth whose front surfaces are badly damaged. In such cases, laminate veneers are ideal treatment methods to prevent all teeth from being cut, as with the crowns. Porcelain laminate veneers can also be used for worn and broken teeth.

When the teeth are spaced – Laminated teeth can be made when the teeth called diedema are intermittent. However, if the tooth gap is too large, orthodontics can also come into play in order to achieve an ideal ratio of width and length. If the teeth appear too wide when the gaps are closed, gum interventions called gingivectomy can help achieve idle aspect ratios. Here the type of treatment (gum intervention-laminated porcelain and orthodontic trilogy) is determined during the treatment planning. Sometimes the tooth gaps can be closed with laminated porcelain and composite fillings, which are very inexpensive and constructive.

With distorted teeth – laminate porcelain may be suitable for patients who do not want orthodontic treatment with slight distortion. However, it is not possible to correct advanced distortions with laminate teeth. In such situations, orthopedic treatment and then teeth whitening may be sufficient for the patient with distal teeth. However, if there is a problem with the shape of the teeth, porcelain laminate veneers can be applied after an orthodontic treatment.
